Hello World!

It's happening! The beginning of something new and exciting!
Ami Amore - the name of the blogs, shop, and fan page about a love and passion for amigurumi.  This has been dream in the making for several months.

Back in April, I stumbled across some pictures of this Japanese crochet technique and decided that I wanted to give it a try.  I had just left another craft, sewing bags and such, and was eager to find that special hobby for me.  For as long as I can remember, crafting has always been a part of my life but I didn't really have a passion for any certain type or hobby.  Hobbies are expensive, especially if you're changing it every two years!  I really wanted to stick with this one and, in a sense, fall in love with it.

Determined to give amigurumi an honest and full-hearted try, I threw myself in.  And, to my surprise, I found it!  My very own hobby!  Something that I love to do and never grows old.  Since the beginning my designs and piles of ami's, as well as other peoples interest, has grown and grown.  So much so, that it's now the reason I started this blog and will be opening a shop soon on Etsy.

So, to show you my specialty, here is my newest design:

A Mini Amigurumi Puppy in Blue

He really is that mini! He stands at about 2.5 inches.  I LOVE making ami's this small! People look at me like I'm crazy and ask if it kills my hand to crochet that small.  Nope, it doesn't!

I need to work on the tail - maybe try something different on the next one.  His just isn't there yet :]

Right now I'm trying to find a good photo hosting site. I'm thinking of going with flickr, but is it really the best option for what I do?
Any suggestions?

Thanks for stopping by, I'd love to hear what you think!
